Parte deste dinheiro irá para o time uruguaio.

Australia bear the Sciver-Brunt in first ODI series loss since 2013

Cross three-for after Knight half-century helped England stifle the visitors in a rain-curtailed chase

Nat Sciver-Brunt starred again – this time in a winning cause – with her second successive century in three days as England defeated Australia in the final ODI at Taunton to win the 50-over leg of their Ashes series 2-1.Sciver-Brunt followed her unbeaten 111 off 99 balls on Sunday in Southampton, where Australia won by thee runs, with a pivotal innings of 129 as the hosts prevailed in a rain-affected final game. She shared a 147-run stand for the third wicket with Heather Knight to rescue England from a perilous 12 for 2 and, along with Danni Wyatt’s rapid-fire 43 off 25 balls, helped lift the hosts to 285 for 9. It was their joint-second-highest ODI total against Australia, who originally needed to produce their second-highest successful 50-over run chase to win until rain halted play for nearly an hour during their pursuit and forced a revised target of 269 from 44 overs.Kate Cross claimed three wickets and had a hand in running out the dangerous Ashleigh Gardner, while Charlie Dean and Lauren Bell took two each as the Australians were bowled out for 199, consigned to their first defeat in a bilateral ODI series in a decade. England also won the T20I leg 2-1 but it wasn’t enough to win back the Ashes, held by Australia since 2015 and retained on this occasion with the overall series drawn on eight points all.Bell removed opener Phoebe Litchfield in the second over, Sophie Ecclestone snaring a low catch at slip and Cross beat Alyssa Healy’s defences with a wobble-seam delivery that came back in from outside off to clip the top of middle stump as Australia slumped to 15 for 2 and Healy ended the tour with just two scores above 16 from nine innings, including her half-century in the Test where she also scored a duck.Sciver-Brunt bowled a wayward over in the 13th with three wides which tested wicketkeeper Amy Jones, who then effected an excellent stumping off the bowling of Ecclestone, who lured Tahlia McGrath forward and beat the inside edge, breaking a steadying partnership worth 53 with Ellyse Perry.Kate Cross picked three key wickets and was involved in running out the dangerous Ashleigh Gardner•PA Photos/Getty Images

Perry looked threatening, as she had been in Southampton, passing fifty with a huge six over long-on off a free hit after a no-ball from Dean, the offspinner who had replaced Sarah Glenn in the side after she underwent surgery for appendicitis on Monday. But Cross returned to the attack and struck twice in as many overs with the big wickets of Perry, skying to point, and Beth Mooney chipping to mid off.Gardner eased the pressure by taking 17 off one Bell over, including sixes down the ground and over midwicket followed by two fours in three balls from Cross en route to 41 off 24 balls, but Cross stayed in the action, collecting a sharp throw from sweeper Wyatt and breaking the stumps at the non-striker’s end as Gardner dived in vain attempting a second run and Australia were six down needing 103 from 96 balls. When Sciver-Brunt and Jones teamed up for Georgia Wareham’s stumping, England grasped the momentum. Dean ensured England didn’t give it back, bowling Annabel Sutherland in a wicket-maiden next over and claiming the final wicket of the series, Jess Jonassen lofting the ball to Bell at short third after Bell had had Alana King caught behind.Earlier, Sophia Dunkley extended a lean run in which she has scored just 55 runs in five innings since her 56 in the opening T20I at Edgbaston when she skied a fuller ball from Gardner high over the covers, where Litchfield turned and made good ground running back to take the catch comfortably after Dunkley had faced 13 balls for just two runs. Megan Schutt struck in the next over with a full inswinger that had Tammy Beaumont edging onto her stumps toppling into the splits as the ball struck the timber.By the end of the powerplay, England had recovered to 43 for 2 on the back of the burgeoning partnership between Sciver-Brunt and Knight. Sciver-Brunt brought up England’s fifty with an exquisite drive to the boundary through extra cover off King, whom Sciver-Brunt then dispatched wide of long on, once for four then onto the top of the boundary sponge for six.England managed to score only 16 runs in six overs after the first drinks break but scored 21 off the next two, Sciver-Brunt bringing up her fifty by plundering another four through wide long on off Georgia Wareham and Knight moving to 49 on the charge and lofting Wareham over the rope at long-on to bring up the century partnership. Knight turned a full McGrath delivery off her pads through fine leg for four to bring up her fifty and Sciver-Brunt was on 54 when McGrath put down a straightforward caught-and-bowled chance so that by the halfway point of their innings England were 121 for 2.It was King who made the breakthrough for Australia, enticing Knight down the pitch with a swing and a miss, the ball clattering into her stumps. When Alice Capsey holed out to long-on off Jonassen, Sciver-Brunt faced another rebuilding task and she found a willing accomplice in Wyatt, who injected plenty of energy with her enterprising shot selection and lively running between the wickets. The duo added 66 runs in 43 balls for the fifth wicket, Sciver-Brunt moving to 99 turning McGrath to the fine leg boundary and raising her fourth century in five ODIs against Australia – the other three coming in England defeats – next ball with a single clipped to square leg. Wyatt, meanwhile, added 43 from 25 balls before Gardner produced a brilliant yorker which slid under her bat and crashed into leg stump.Jones was run out by an excellent direct hit from cover by substitute fielder Darcie Brown moments after she replaced King, who went off with a swollen lip when she was struck by the ball while fielding. Sciver-Brunt followed, to a standing ovation, when she picked out Gardner at deep midwicket but she had done a magnificent job for England once again and this time it was enough.

Romano: 49ers "in negotiations" to seal "complicated" £20m+ Leeds transfer

da fezbet: Leeds United and 49ers Enterprises are “in negotiations” to seal a “complicated” transfer, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Leeds’ transfer plans after Nmecha and Bijol deals

da betobet: The Whites have made a start on their summer business ahead of their Premier League return, with Daniel Farke bringing in forward Lukas Nmecha on a free transfer from Wolfsburg as the first addition of the summer.

Nmecha has since been joined by centre-back Jaka Bijol, who looks like he could go straight into Farke’s side after Leeds spent £15m and gave the Slovenia international a five-year deal at Elland Road.

The 49ers and co also want to bring in a goalkeeper, central midfielder and marquee striker, bolstering the spine of Leeds’ side in the process, and they are willing to spend big on each position.

A top goalkeeping target is yet to be indetifned, whereas in attack, Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz appears to be the priority. In midfield, Strasbourg captain Habib Diarra is viewed as an ambitious target, and there have been claims that Leeds have made two offers for the Senegal international.

Diarra appears to be keen on a move to England, however, whether that will be with Leeds remains to be seen, and Romano has shared what he knows about a potential transfer.

Leeds "in negotiations" to seal “complicated" Diarra deal – Romano

Speaking to Give Me Sport, Romano said that Leeds are “in negotiations” to seal a deal for Diarra, however, any move won’t be easy because of the valuation.

Leeds’ second bid was thought to be worth around £24m, and if that isn’t enough, the Whites may soon be into the territory of their most expensive signings of all time in Georginio Rutter and Brenden Aaronson.

Still just 21 years of age, Diarra has already played more than 100 games for Strasbourg, something which Liam Rosenior hailed.

“For Habib it’s been amazing. At his age? To play 100 games for this club? A club that he’s been at since he was 14 years old? A club that he loves? For him to be captain at his age says a lot about his character and mentality.

“I think he’s going to have an amazing career. He’s been magnificent in my time working with him and it was nice to see him with his family celebrating a really special moment.”

'Yeah mate, no stress': Konstas takes axing in stride

The 19-year-old was overlooked for the first Test in Galle after the dramatic start to his career against India

Sam Konstas looks on•Getty Images

Sam Konstas showned his character with a classy response to being dropped for the first Test against Sri Lanka, said Australia selector on duty Tony Dodemaide.Dodemaide stopped short of guaranteeing Konstas would reclaim his opening spot for the home Ashes next summer but insisted the star teenager remained part of succession plans for an ageing Australian squad.Australia cited Travis Head’s form as an opener on the last subcontinent tour in 2023 for the “difficult” decision to oust Konstas from the top of the order in Galle.Related

Konstas turned heads with his aggressive approach in his first two Tests to help seal a rare series victory over India, but has not toured the subcontinent before. The 19-year-old was seen congratulating Josh Inglis’ family as the previously uncapped West Australian took his spot in the XI for the first of two Tests in Galle. After being told he would be dropped, Konstas offered to arrive at the ground early for day one on Wednesday to help with preparations.”There’s a lot to like and be impressed about Sam,” Dodemaide said. “One of the things is his ability to take things in his stride. It’s remarkable really, whether it’s playing in front of 90,000 and Jasprit Bumrah at the MCG or getting told that you’re left out of the Test.  He was like, ‘Oh yeah mate, no stress. I get it’.”Konstas memorably slapped the world’s best paceman Bumrah around the ground in Melbourne as he scored a half-century in his first Test dig on Boxing Day. He then partnered with Usman Khawaja to ignite the series-winning run chase at the SCG.But Dodemaide would not guarantee Konstas would be able to reprise his heroics during the next home series, with two Sri Lanka Tests, the World Test Championship final and a West Indies tour to play out before then.”We won’t pre-empt what’s happening there,” Dodemaide said. “But clearly he’s done a lot right hasn’t he?”We’re looking for those successor players to come in, there will be some turnover naturally in the next couple of years or so and he’s very much staked a claim.”Selectors will also not rule out Konstas returning to the XI in the second and final Sri Lanka Test, pending the result in the first.”He’s a hugely talented player, hasn’t played a lot in this part of the world but he’ll learn quickly obviously,” Dodemaide said.”The opportunity to have him here, not to say that Test two is out of the question obviously depending on what happens here, but the opportunity to give Nathan McSweeney, Cooper Connolly and even now Ollie Peake [on the tour as a development player] is an investment in the future.”The call to drop Konstas sparked criticism from Australia’s most prolific Test runscorer Ricky Ponting, who had previously called for him to retain his spot.”There is a real missed opportunity for the Australians here to get to learn a bit more about Sam Konstas,” the former Test captain said on Channel Seven.”If he is the player we all think he is, I would have loved to have seen him work out a way to play spin in tough conditions in Sri Lanka over the next couple of weeks.”Dodemaide said Australia needed to prioritise a first series win in Sri Lanka since 2011 even if the side had already qualified for the WTC final.”A lot of the narrative has been around this tour doesn’t matter. It really does, it’s Test cricket. That’s our priority,” he said.

A better signing than Semenyo: Spurs set to make approach for £50m striker

da premier bet: Tottenham Hotspur’s success in Europe this campaign is evidence that they are capable of achieving incredible things, needing to build on their recent trophy lift.

da bet sport: The Europa League triumph ended the club’s generational wait for silverware, handing Thomas Frank the platform to build on ahead of his first season in charge.

He was appointed as the club’s new boss after Ange Postecoglou was given the boot despite beating Manchester United in Bilbao at the end of May.

Brentford managerThomasFrankapplauds fans after the match

However, the Premier League needs to be the main focus for the Dane, looking to push the side in the right direction and building towards a title push during his tenure in North London.

Any success he could achieve is hugely dependent on how much business the hierarchy conducts in the summer, needing to back the new boss in his quest after making the leap across the capital.

The latest on Spurs’ hunt for new additions this summer

Over the last couple of days, Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze has emerged as a key target once again for Spurs, which could lead to them triggering his £68m release clause.

He’s not the only attacker on their radar, with West Ham United’s Mohammed Kudus also another potential option, with Frank evidently wanting to strengthen his options within the final third.

West Ham's Mohammed Kudus

However, either of the options could be joined by Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz, after the Brazilian was labelled as a player on their radar as per GIVEMESPORT’s latest update.

They claim that the Lilywhites are preparing an approach for the 24-year-old this summer, after he registered eight goals in the Premier League throughout 2024/25 – with his current employers demanding £50m for his signature.

It also states that the forward would be keen on a move to North London this summer, after Marco Silva’s side rejected a £32m bid from newly-promoted Leeds United last week.

Why Spurs’ £50m target would be a better signing than Semenyo

Antoine Semenyo is another attacker who has appeared on Spurs’ radar over the last couple of weeks, with the Ghanaian seen as a key target this summer.

Antoine Semenyo scores for Bournemouth

It’s been reported in recent days that Frank’s side are set to make a £65m bid to land the 25-year-old this window after registering 11 goals and five assists in the league this campaign.

It’s likely that Bournemouth won’t want to lose another star player after Dean Huijsen departed and Milos Kerkez moved one step closer to securing a move to join Liverpool this summer.

However, the Lilywhites remain confident over a deal for the attacker, but as previously mentioned, it would cost the hierarchy a pretty penny during the off-season.

The winger would be a superb addition; however, Frank and Co should be prioritising a move for Muniz as a result, with the striker able to fulfil a key position in the squad.

Within the current squad, the wingers contributed to 27 goals scored in the Premier League this season, but the strikers only registered 13 – highlighting the need for added reinforcements in such an area.

When comparing Muniz’s stats to those of Semenyo, he’s managed to match or better him in numerous key areas, offering the side the added threat they need in the final third.

The Brazilian, who’s been labelled “clinical” by one analyst, may have scored fewer goals, but has posted a better minute per goal ratio, demonstrating his finishing ability in attacking areas.

His dominance in such a department is reflected in his shot on target accuracy and his better goal per shot on target rate – taking advantage of more chances that fall his way in front of goal.

Muniz has also won more of the aerials that he’s entered, handing Frank the focal point he needs if he is to be a success during his time in the role in North London.

£50m may appear to be a hefty fee for a player who’s often been an impact option, but he’s showcased that he’s capable of thriving given the stats posted this campaign.

Whilst Semenyo would be a superb signing, the need for a new striker is evident this summer, with the Fulham star potentially the perfect option to fill the void in Frank’s side.

West Brom could seal a better signing than Mikey Moore in "phenomenal" star

da bet7: West Bromwich Albion fans will want to see their team break free of their tag of nearly-men in the Championship promotion race this coming season.

da realbet: The Baggies have now been outside the luxuries of the Premier League for four seasons on the spin, with Carlos Corberan clinching a playoff spot for the West Midlands side during the 2023/24 season, only for a semi-final exit to crush their promotion dreams.

It will be up to rookie manager Ryan Mason to finally guide West Brom back up to the Premier League, with the powers that be at the Hawthorns going down a brave, new route in offering the inexperienced 33-year-old the reins.

He might well look to utilise his former Tottenham Hotspur connections when attempting to land gems in the transfer market, with Mikey Moore one North London prodigy that continues to stick out.

Latest on West Brom's pursuit of Moore

It has been a long-standing rumour at the Hawthorns this summer that West Brom are interested in bringing the 17-year-old sensation to the Championship.

After all, the teenage attacker does boast an astounding return of 19 goals from 24 appearances for Spurs’ U19s, on top of also showing off his class in senior action when powering home his first-ever men’s goal for Thomas Frank’s men last season in the Europa League.

But, it could be argued that West Brom are already strong down both the left wing and right wing – where Moore regularly roams – with Tom Fellows, Jed Wallace, and Mikey Johnston all at Mason’s disposal. Between them last season in the second tier, the entertaining trio would tally up a hefty 27 goal contributions.

Moreover, with experience perhaps preferred when looking for fresh recruits down the wing as ex-Derby forward Tom Lawrence continues to be linked, the Baggies might look to other faces in the Spurs academy to bolster their squad, with a loan return for this striker potentially on the menu as a better pick-up than Moore.

How Mason could seal a better signing than Moore

If there was an area on the pitch that fills West Brom with anxiety, it would be up top in the centre-forward position.

West Brom haven’t been blessed with lady luck in this department, considering Josh Maja found himself out of action from January onwards last campaign when picking up an unfortunate injury, away from Daryl Dike also being a regular member of the Hawthorns treatment room.

Therefore, to ensure they don’t leave themselves short on numbers in attack, West Brom could soon welcome back former loan face Will Lankshear to Mason’s camp, with Football London reporting earlier this week that the Baggies want to secure the temporary signature of the 20-year-old once more, alongside other Championship suitors sniffing around.

Lankshear did endure a testing loan stint with the club last season, with zero goals picked up across 11 appearances, but he was shoved into the deep-end arguably, considering he joined the building right in the midst of West Brom’s promotion push falling flat.

He only started four of those league clashes too, and with such a glowing track record in youth circles at Spurs – much like Moore – Mason might well be the perfect manager to get the most out of Lankshear in a senior set-up, having worked with him closely in North London.

Amazingly, the “phenomenal” forward – as he was labelled by journalist John Wenham – has an even sturdier goal tally next to his name for the Spurs U21s than Moore has managed in his age bracket, with a venomous 26 strikes amassed from just 35 contests.

Even if Maja is back to full fitness this coming season, adding in Lankshear wouldn’t hurt, with the 20-year-old hotshot no doubt able to enhance his game bouncing off of such an experienced EFL head.

With their highest average age across the lineup coming in at 28.7 last season, adding in stars of the future, such as the England U20 international, could be a worthwhile move, as Mason attempts to leave his mark on the Baggies to try and push his new employers up the league.

After Nat Phillips: West Brom could sign "sublime" Fellows replacement

If West Bromwich Albion are powerless to Tom Fellows leaving, this sublime star joining the building could be his best possible replacement.

Axar hints at flexible middle order as India gear up for England T20Is

India’s newly appointed T20I vice-captain has suggested that only the openers’ roles will be fixed

Sreshth Shah20-Jan-20253:12

Axar: Shami’s return a ‘big positive’

All of India’s batters apart from their openers can expect to have flexible roles in the T20I line-up. Axar Patel, India’s newly appointed vice-captain in the format, suggested this could be the case in his press conference ahead of the five-match T20I series against England. The series is set to kick off in Kolkata on Wednesday, with Chennai, Rajkot, Pune and Mumbai to host the remaining T20Is.Related

Shami puts in the hard yards at India's first training session ahead of England T20Is

In recent years, India have used Axar to good effect as a floater. It’s a reflection of his improvement with the bat – having averaged 21.26 and struck at 131.25 in all T20s until the end of 2022, he has upped his performances significantly, averaging 30.32 and striking at 145.62 since the start of 2023 – and his versatility, with India, Delhi Capitals and Gujarat sending him out in a variety of situations. He has scored six half-centuries in these last two years, from Nos. 3, 4, 6 and 7.Over recent months, India have used not just Axar but also Hardik Pandya, Tilak Varma, Nitish Reddy, Washington Sundar and Rinku Singh as floaters with varying levels of success.”Batting wise, it’s not just with me, but we spoke in 2023-24 itself that the openers are fixed, but everyone from Nos. 3 to 7 have been told that they can come into bat anytime, in any situation. It is not just that one batter will bat at a particular position,” Axar told reporters on Monday. “Our middle order will come to bat depending on the match situation, what kind of bowlers are bowling at the time, which match-up works well.”We’ve spoken about that, how we can all be floaters, be it coming in early or obviously finishing. This is not just for me, but for everyone from No. 3 and below, especially if they are in good touch in the nets. We will adjust accordingly. In T20Is, how you use your batters is so crucial, so this is an important factor in batting.”‘As part of the leadership group, you have to learn to take harsh decisions’•Associated Press

As Suryakumar Yadav’s deputy in T20Is, Axar felt he would have to to learn to take difficult calls. It is a topic he has discussed with the support staff too.”It has just been a day, but as part of the leadership group there is an extra responsibility,” Axar said. “The T20I side is settled, so there’s not much pressure, but there are small decisions that need making and during the game I need to work closely with Suryakumar.”As part of the leadership group, you have to learn to take harsh decisions. We have spoken about sharing our genuine opinions and that will help build trust in this group.”The T20I format is such that it is so fast that you have to make decisions quickly, so the larger conversations [with the coaches] is about how to do that.”India’s immediate focus is on ODI cricket, with the Champions Trophy looming, but T20Is will assume greater significance once that tournament ends. Defending champions India and Sri Lanka are set to co-host the T20 World Cup in February-March 2026. Apart from these five matches against England, India don’t have too many T20Is lined up before they embark on their title defence: currently, they are scheduled to play three T20Is in Bangladesh in August, and five at home against South Africa later in the year.”The World Cup is coming up in a year so how we approach leading up to that, we want to try it from now itself. That’s the main target,” Axar said. “Momentum is a big thing because if you start well, you can carry it. We finished 2024 well so we want to carry the momentum into this series too.”But we’ve discussed that the past is past, however, we want to move ahead with the positives we gained from there. We have taken forward the points that brought us success.”Transition is also something happening, across all formats, but that’s a call for the selectors and captain to take.”
